Lessons are offered in violin and viola, available to all ages and skill levels.
Studio location: Private lessons are offered at my home in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. I also teach at the Brooklyn Music Studio and Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, both located in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
Suzuki method: For beginners, we follow the Suzuki method and repertoire curriculum. As students progress, we may add supplemental material. Advanced students move on to standard performance repertoire and may participate in chamber music groups.
Music theory: Musical literacy and music theory are taught along with violin skills. Portions of each lesson are dedicated to a standard music theory curriculum, progressing from note-reading to advanced composition.
Lesson components:
Private Lessons: Students take 1 hour of private lessons per week. For our beginning students, this hour is recommended to be split into two 30-minute half lessons across the week.Â
Group Class: We offer a 1 hour group class every week. In this class, students play with and for each-other, reinforcing private lesson skills while learning how to collaborate and make music as a group.
